Margaret Rhodes
Margaret lives in Startforth and after taking early retirement she progressed her interest in Art and graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art in 2014.
Much of her work is inspired by the natural environment, particularly the shapes, patterns and surfaces created by erosion. Detailed observational monochromatic drawings form the basis of her semi-abstract/abstract work and, through these, she aims to put her own interpretation on what she sees whilst retaining its essence. Preferring to work in graphite or ink, she occasionally uses acrylic or oils for her more abstract pieces. Margaret has exhibited her work in a number of venues across the North East.
