Kirkcarrion Artists’ Collective
Our gallery is run as an artists’ collective, firmly embedded in the local community and at the heart of Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Established as a not-for-profit co-operative organisation, its aims are:
to offer local artists a first class gallery space in which to exhibit and sell their work;
to encourage visitors to Middleton-in-Teedale and the surrounding area;
to promote the visual arts and provide a supportive network for artists from and working within the remote North Pennines;
to foster collaborative projects in the local community.
Kirkcarrion Gallery is located in an attractive Grade II Listed building owned by the charity Middleton Plus.
A former Tourist Information Centre, the building has been renovated and repurposed specifically as a community gallery space with grant aid from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Durham County Council.
The collective has been set up with the aid of the South Durham Enterprise Agency and Co-operatives UK.
If you are an artist interested in becoming involved …
