Associate Artists
Our associate artists are not members of the Collective, but exhibit work regularly and sell their work through the gallery on a commission basis.
Examples of each artist’s work, their biography, and artist’s statements can be viewed below. Please contact the gallery for information about current works for sale.
Guest Artists
Fran Blackett
Fran recently graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Fine Art. In her final year degree show, she presented a body of abstract artworks on the theme of nostalgia and memories. She has helped out in the gallery and with social media.
In order to keep our display of artwork fresh and give artists from slightly further afield the opportunity to exhibit with us, we offer short term opportunities to guest artists. Their work is sold on a commission basis. Our current guest artists are:
Margaret Rhodes
Margaret has a degree in Fine Art. Much of her work is inspired by the natural environment, particularly the shapes, patterns and surfaces created by erosion. Margaret often paints on found objects such as stones.
Matt Swan
Matt is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and now works as an illustrator, scribe and visualiser. He uses vibrant colours, but also creates cartoon-like monochrome illustrations, often with a humorous twist.
Annie Hyde
Annie makes brightly coloured and intricate mosaics, using coloured glass and old china, the patterns on which she cleverly weaves into her designs.
Elaine Vizor
Elaine completed an MA in Photography and is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society. Elaine’s photographic interests include creating paintings with light, cyanotype printing, and camera obscura works.
George Young
George is a research scientist working in the field of bioinformatics. He has combined computer expertise and artistic flair in designing and 3D printing a range of art nouveau inspired jewellery and coasters.
Deborah Boyd Whyte
Deborah trained and worked as a jeweller. Her artistic practice now centres on contemporary ceramics. She often works in porcelain and incorporates elements of drawing. Her work has been exhibited widely.
