Clare Money
Clare Money is a visual artist based in Whitley Bay and Durham.
After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 1991, with a BA (Hons) in Drawing and Painting, she went on to do a PGCE at Manchester Polytechnic. Over the past thirty five years Clare has made a career out of combining the development of her practice with teaching art in various forms. In 2010 she returned to academia and studied for an MA in Fine Art at Northumbria University, followed by a PhD completed in 2019.
Clare’s work is about making connections with places, not remote locations alien to her, but known spaces that she revisits over a prolonged period of time. Recent paintings have been inspired by the landscapes of the North Pennines that bear the scars of previous industry, especially those of Upper Teesdale and Weardale.
