Emma Gray
Emma has been making and designing jewellery for over 30 years, working mainly in silver and gold, together with gemstones, enamels, horsehair, crystals, pearls and beads. Emma also makes silver tumble cups to order.
Emma has lived and worked as a jeweller in Thailand, New Zealand, London, Cornwall and Gloucestershire before returning to her native Teesdale in 2006.
In 2008 The Bowes Museum invited Emma to exhibit and sell from their shop. In 2012 a collection of swan brooches was commissioned, based on the museum’s logo, for them to sell. Emma continued to stock pieces in the shop for 14 years, until 2022.
In 2015 the Bishop of Grantham, Nick Chamberlain, commissioned Emma to design and make his pectoral cross and amethyst ring to be worn at his consecration in Lincoln Cathedral.
Emma continues to make bespoke commissions.
