Matt Scott
Matt is a self-taught landscape artist based in Barnard Castle, Durham. Working primarily in oils and watercolours, his work aims to capture the beauty of the landscapes of northern England, most notably those of Teesdale and the Yorkshire Dales.
Matt draws inspiration from observing nature while hiking with his beagle, Charlie, then uses a combination of photographs and memories to evoke the atmosphere and feel of the scene on canvas or paper. He uses colour and mark-making to emphasise changing light and weather conditions throughout the seasons.
